Baseball Betting - The Basics

Though most betters love basketball and football matches but even baseball doesn’t lag behind in grabbing its share of honor among bettors who do not like playing with the spreads. Yes! You got it right! MLB baseball betting doesn’t involve any spreads except for run line.
There are three basic components of a MLB baseball betting:
1. Betting on one side - Betting on one side simply refers to selecting one team for the win. In MLB baseball, wagering doesn’t mean placing a bet on the spread but the money line – unless it is a run line of course. For example, let us presume for a MLB betting that:
Seattle mariners have +110 points
New York Yankees have -120 points
The bottom/second team is always a home team. So, if you place your bet on Yankees, you need to have $1.20 to win every $1. A bet of $10 on Yankees if they win would get you a winning of $8.33 along with your $10. With mariners, every wager of $1 would get you $1.10. Hence, $10 wagered on Mariners would get you $11 along with $10 that you placed on it, if they win.
2. Betting on Run Line – Wagering at the run line means that either you are laying or you are getting 1.5 runs. You can make amendments in money figures with a run line. For instance, you may be a big aficionado of a team but betting them with -200 points may be very risky for you. So, you can go for run line and knock away -200.
3. Betting on Over/under – “Totals line” or “totals” is another name for an under/over line. Wagering at this would imply that you are placing your bet on the combined score of both teams. If the mentioned line here is 8 for example, combined score of both teams should then be a minimum of 8 points for you to tie the bet and get the same amount as refund. However, you would win the bet only if the combined score sums up to more than 8 points. You may also bet for under. In that case, you would require the total scored points to be less than 8.
